Head of Commercial Property

T: 0191 211 1508

Paul moved to Newcastle in 1987 to study Law at Newcastle University.  Having enjoyed living in Newcastle so much he then trained with Dickinson Dees and rose up through the ranks to Senior Associate.  Paul took the opportunity to join the Commercial Property team as a partner at well-respected regional firm Crutes in 2005, but left shortly after Crutes was taken over by DWF.  Paul has been with Short Richardson & Forth since 2013 and been Head of the Commercial Property Department since 2014.
Paul advises a number of owner managed property companies and high net worth individuals on their investment properties.  He also advises a number of clients on their trading properties in the retail and leisure sectors and SME’s on the offices, warehouses, factories and shops they occupy for their business.

“ I like to get to the crux of a matter early and understand the most important parts of the deal from the client’s point of view, as this enables deals to proceed more smoothly.  I like to apply a sensible approach to deals and provide practical solutions where other lawyers might just find problems.  Even after a long time as a solicitor I find the law fascinating with new challenges every day”

I live close to the beautiful North East coast and like to get on to the beach when I can, whatever the weather.  I also enjoy hiking and am slowly ticking off the Wainwright hills in the Lake District.  At weekends I love to get out in the fresh air with the family, whether they like it or not.  I have also been a member of the Campaign for Real Ale for many years and enjoy watching League and Non- League football
