Chris works predominantly in the commercial property department, dealing with commercial property purchases and sales, leases (for both landlords and tenants), refinances and all related matters. He has also advised schools on converting to academy status and has a good working knowledge of the legal and procedural hurdles involved.
Chris also assists the commercial and corporate department in advising on and drafting a range of documents including international distribution agreements, loan agreements, service contracts (both business to business and business to consumer) and advising on corporate matters such as governance issues (including Articles of Association and procedure), shareholder matters and director issues.
"Completing a complex transaction for a client gives a good sense of satisfaction at which point it becomes obligatory to crack open the Champagne.”
Chris has lectured at Northumbria University on commercial law matters and is published in various legal journals. He is an avid Newcastle United fan, regularly attending matches. He also plays badminton and football frequently and recently invested in a kayak to tour the waters of the North East and (hopefully) beyond.
