Environment Agency

Regulatory business defence lawyers

The Environment Agency is responsible to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Their principal aims are to protect and improve the environment, and to promote sustainable development.

Whilst they do an excellent job protecting our environment, they also have significant enforcement powers for any organisation which may have fallen foul of environmental laws.

As with other regulators, the Environment Agency will investigate and prosecute potential offenders where they see it is appropriate to do so.

We have expertise in dealing with these situations from the outset, advising on how to deal with the early stages of an investigation to minimise the risk of prosecution. However, if court cannot be avoided, we will represent you through the process to achieve the best possible outcome.
