Azra Choudry joined the firm as an Employment Solicitor in July 2009, having previously trained and worked in a North East Law Firm where she specialised in employment law.

Azra represents clients on all aspects of employment law such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, unlawful deduction of wages, all forms of discrimination; sex, race disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, whistleblowing, maternity rights and paternity rights and flexible working.

Azra takes a pragmatic approach when advising clients on internal disciplinary and grievances matters, concerning issues of conduct, capability, discrimination and harassment.

Azra has successfully represented many clients, including one the first successful claims in the UK of religious discrimination and continues to have a special interest in discrimination law from her past experience as a Legal Officer for the Commission for Racial Equality (now the Commission for Equality and Human Rights).

Azra is a member of the ELA, the Law Society and the Newcastle Employment Tribunal Users Group.
