Newcastle law firm Short Richardson & Forth LLP win national training award

Last night at the Design Museum in London, law firms from across the country gathered for the 10th annual LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards (the TARAs).

LawCareers.Net is the UK's leading online resource for bringing together law firms with aspiring lawyers.  The TARAs celebrate firms and individuals who provide exceptional training.  Firms were shortlisted on criteria including their recruitment process, the training they offer, and the quality of any work placement schemes.

This year's winners included City firms Nabarro LLP and Shoosmiths.  North East firm Short Richardson & Forth LLP was shortlisted for, and won, the Best Trainer - Small Firm award.

LawCareers.Net publisher Matthew Broadbent commented: "It is a privilege to work with so many organisations which take the training and nurturing of their talent so seriously.  The profession is going through a period of change and retrenchment at the moment, and it is at times like this that those who have taken care of the roots of their firm, its people, will have the advantage."

Senior Partner David Richardson said "We have always prided ourselves on providing excellent training to the new lawyers that join us.  We appreciate how difficult it is to embark upon a legal career, so ensure that all trainees are well supervised and given the time and attention they deserve.  We are delighted to have won this national award and feel it reflects the efforts we make to nurture our trainees so they achieve their full potential”.

Short Richardson & Forth LLP trainee Alexandra Withers commented "I am really pleased the firm has won this award given the quality of training it provides.  It was great to attend the ceremony in London and even better to bring the award back to Newcastle."

Short Richardson & Forth LLP will soon be looking to recruit a new trainee to begin later this year.
